MSc in Finance student Christopher Ewert sat down with us to give his thoughts on choosing Trinity and his MSc programme.
Trinity Business School are delighted to welcome students to the MSc Finance. Delivered by expert faculty and leading finance practitioners, students will receive in-depth training in analytical and practical skills. Students will take part in trading simulations and will learn about areas of finance such as portfolio management, private equity, venture capital and treasury management. A core module in Sustainable Finance will be delivered in the first term, which is then further developed across all modules, as well as an elective module in Business Ethics, reflecting our business school strategy of Business for Good. As part of the Econometrics module students will use statistical software to analyse financial datasets from providers such as Reuters, S&P Capital and Bloomberg. Students can also choose to work towards a professional certificate in Bloomberg. These skills will be applicable for the dissertation research project, as well as in future work environments. Dublin is Ireland's Financial Services Centre, home to many of the world’s leading banks and financial services organisations. Dublin is also a hub for sustainable finance, home to many leading investment firms in the field and green bond listings on the Irish Stock Exchange. Trinity Business School is located only minutes away from Ireland’s financial centre, and students have access to industry speakers and networking events.
Trinity Business School is partnered with the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association and affiliated to Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute – both of whom have recognised the academic rigour and industry-relevant skills taught to students. There are also several CFA scholarships awarded to successful MSc in Finance students in May/June each year.
