Eligibility Criteria & Terms and Conditions

Please ensure you read and understand all the criteria, as well as the terms and conditions, outlined below before you apply to LaunchBox.

  • Individuals must be available full-time for the entire duration of LaunchBox: 1 June – 2 September inclusive.
  • Applying companies should comprise a majority of current Trinity students (undergrad or postgrad), or have graduated from Trinity within the last 12 months, and all applicants should be available for the duration of the programme. For example, in a team with two co-founders, at least one co-founder should be either a Trinity student or a graduate of Trinity within the last 12 months; in a team of three co-founders, at least two co-founders should be Trinity students/recent Trinity graduates, etc. If you have additional team members who will NOT be full-time with your startup and participating on LaunchBox but will, for example, be providing you with development support or similar, you can list them under the skills section of the application form, but they should NOT be listed as team members unless full-time on the programme. You will still need to have at least two team members who will be full-time in order to be eligible for the programme.
  • The minimum team size is two people. The recommended team size is 2-3 people, with a mix of disciplines, backgrounds or skills. Larger teams may also apply.
  • Information that the team considers confidential should not be included in the application form.
  • Decisions of the judging panel and operational team are final.
  • Funding to successful startups will be €10K per team, paid out in two instalments, dependent on KPIs and progress through the programme.
  • Successful startups are required to be present for the structured programme and attend speaker sessions and any other mandatory programme elements. Repeated failure to attend may result in loss of funding.
  • Trinity and Tangent do not take equity in any LaunchBox startup.
  • It is not a requirement that the company is an incorporated entity, although applications from Limited Companies are welcome.
  • LaunchBox is full-time, so any course deliverables due during LaunchBox will need to be completed in time outside of the programme. The focus is on the individual participant to manage both the programme and their own course deliverables.
  • These terms and conditions are indicative only and subject to change. Successful applicants will be required to enter into an agreement with Trinity governing their participation in the programme.
  • While it is advisable that each team has some form of agreement amongst the members of the team regarding the distribution of any future benefits, such an agreement is the sole responsibility of the applicants.
  • A separate agreement providing access to this IP may be required before project commencement on a case-by-case basis.
  • All IP created by the participants during the programme will be owned by the creators.
  • Any IP disclosed as part of the application will be regarded as public and should not be regarded as confidential.
  • If you have been through LaunchBox before and received funding or payment from the same, you are unfortunately not eligible for future LaunchBox programmes, even if you are applying with a new idea and/or team.
  • Any previously created IP (not created by the participants) that will be introduced before or during the project must be notified to the organisers at the application stage. This may be IP that was created:
    • as part of a Trinity project or under a funding scheme of any kind within Trinity;
    • by any third-party entity other than the participants.
