Trinity Summer Series 2017

MCD will hold a series of six evening outdoor concerts in Trinity College Park from Thursday 6th to Tuesday 11th July 2017. Financial contribution from these concerts will be invested in supporting the College's academic mission. 

Preparations for the “Trinity Summer Series” will begin next week, commencing Monday 3rd July 2017. Concert facilities will be constructed and installed at College Park.

The following information on the arrangements for the Trinity Summer Series is issued for your guidance:

PEDESTRIAN ACCESS

On concert days, Thursday 6th July to Tuesday 11th July, from 5.30pm there will be no pedestrian access in the following areas:

  • East side of College at the back of the Ussher Library
  • From the Podium of the Berkeley Library to the Broadwalk
  • From the Rose Garden to the Broadwalk
  • At the laneway at The Printing House, House 33
  • The Broadwalk will be closed

Pedestrian access to the East end of College will be via The Narrows Gates.

Nassau Street and Front Gate entrances will be accessed and egressed as normal throughout the concert period.

Ticket Holders

Admission to the concerts is for ticket holders only and they will access the concert on foot via the Lincoln Place and Science Gallery entrances.

Residents

Residents will be admitted as normal on presentation of valid identification – Student Card and Residents Key Card.

Sports Centre

Anyone using the Sports Centre facilities should access via the Science Gallery Gate and will be admitted on presentation of valid identification – Student/Staff Card or Membership ID.

VEHICULAR ACCESS

Lincoln Place Gate will close to vehicular access from 6pm on concert days (Thursday 6th July to Tuesday 11th July). Alternative access will be via Pearse Street Gate from 4pm to midnight.

CAR PARKING

Nassau Street Car Park, including the spaces at the side of the Moyne Institute and Parsons Building, will be closed from midnight on Sunday 2nd July until 6am on Thursday 14th July.

On concert days, Thursday 6th July to Tuesday 11th July, from 5.30pm there will be no parking at the side of the Pavilion or on the access route to/from Lincoln Gate to ensure there is Emergency Services access.

Off Campus Parking Facilities

To compensate for the loss of parking spaces on Campus sixty (60) spaces have been reserved for Trinity College permit holders in the Parkrite Public Car Park on Fleet Street. University permit holders may avail of these spaces ‘free of charge’ between Monday 3rd July and Wednesday 13th July inclusive. These parking facilities are available on a 24-hour basis throughout the period and are being funded by MCD.

UNIVERSITY BUILDINGS

Access to College buildings in East end of Campus will be via key and swipe access only from 6pm on concert days (Thursday 6th July to Tuesday 11th July).

All other University buildings on Campus (and all other University sites) will operate as normal.

SECURITY

The University will be at greater risk than normal during the period of the Trinity Summer Series.  Therefore, please pay particular attention to securing rooms/offices and other facilities by ensuring that doors and windows are properly locked (including shutters if fitted). Do not leave valuables on view. This warning applies to all accommodation in the University, both residential and office, whether in the concert area or not. Special attention should be paid to securing windows and doors in ground floor areas.
