CAPSL is pleased to announce nominations for the 2005-06 Provost Teaching Awards. Funding for up to four Provost’s Teaching Awards is available for the forthcoming academic year. The purpose of the Provost’s Teaching Award Scheme is to promote teaching as a scholarly activity and to reward those who have made an outstanding contribution in the pursuit of teaching excellence. The scope of this initiative is fairly broad and covers all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment and aims to:
-Provide recognition for excellent teaching
– Raise the profile and status of curriculum development, teaching, learning, and assessment, as important activities in College requiring high level expertise
-Encourage lecturing staff to reflect critically on their teaching practice Each award is to the value of €5,000. At least one will be an Early Career Award for nominees with not more than five years full-time third-level teaching experience at the time of nomination (or equivalent as determined by the sub-committee).
