A major new reference work on Action Research edited by Professor of Organisation Development, David Coghlan, at the School of Business, Trinity College Dublin, and Dr Mary Brydon-Miller, University of Cincinnati, USA has just been published by SAGE Publications. The new work represents the first comprehensive collection of the diverse theories and practices that make up the field of Action Research.
The book, entitled the SAGE Encyclopedia of Action Research is published in two volumes and includes an introduction written by Professor Coghlan who is active in both organisation development and action research communities internationally. Professor Coghlan also contributed 10 entries on topics ranging from Authenticity to Process Consultation and includes entries on: Christian Spirituality of Action, Clinical Inquiry, Dissertation Writing, Force Field Analysis, Insider Action Research, Mode 1 and Mode 2 Knowledge Production, Organisation Development & Practical Knowing.
The SAGE Encyclopedia of Action Research contributes to the field of study by bringing together the many strands of action research and addresses the interplay between these disciplines by presenting a state-of-the-art overview and comprehensive breakdown of the key tenets and methods of action research as well as detailing the work of key theorists and contributors to action research.
