How are online CPD modules taught and assessed?

Trinity College uses a Virtual Learning Environment, Blackboard, which allows you to interact with lecturers and other students. All students attend weekly virtual tutorials where you will be able to see, hear and talk to lecturers.

This platform also helps you access live interactive discussions with lecturers, web resources such as videos, animations, wikis and quizzes, online discussion boards to learn with other students, case studies, and other activities designed to make an engaging and fulfilling online learning experience.

A number of methods can be used by lecturers when it comes to assessment. These can take the form of continuous assignments, group assignments, oral presentations, quizzes, reflective journals, as well as standard end of module essay assignments. Full details of the module assessment will be provided upon commencement of the module.

Do I have to have much experience with computers or online learning?

Our modules require a basic competency with computers. However, we don’t expect you to know how to use Blackboard before you start. Many of our students have never studied online before, and being motivated, self-disciplined and an independent learner are key skills.
