Micro-credentials:
As part of the Trinity Strategy 2020-2025 we are committed to next generation teaching and learning across all schools and faculties. We are delighted that the Higher Education Authority has recognised this commitment through funding the micro-credential pilot programme under the Human Capital Initiative.
This pilot programme was created out of a desire to support the professionals and lifelong learners wishing to keep pace with the changing needs of industry and society. The Higher Education Authority also recognised this necessity as part of their Human Capital Initiative to support priority skills needs. Innovation and agility are the core principles of the HCI venture and provide the foundations for the micro-credentials programme in Trinity.
There are four schools presently participating in the programme: Trinity Business School, the School of Engineering, the School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Social Work and Social Policy. Each of these schools has put together micro-credentials with today’s professional in mind. Micro-credentials that explore the evolving trends in each field, that partner with enterprise to ensure responsive skills development and ultimately deliver learning outcomes with real-world relevance. The vision for Trinity micro-credentials in the future is that micro-credentials will be portable and stackable towards a Trinity award.
